Big race day in Caen

Caen, Saturday, 13 May: The biggest racing day of the year will take place today at the Hippodrome in Caen. Among the highlights is the Prix des Ducs de Normandie (3rd race/15.15/150.000 Euro/2450 m), in which Etonnant (Anthony Barrier) repeated his last year`s victory and wants to get ready for the elite loppet.

The millionaire, who last showed up in the Prix de l`Atlantique (Group 1), will meet up with a number of fellow Enghien riders again. First and foremost Hohneck (Gabriele Gelormini), Horsy Dream (Pierre Belloche), Elvis du Vallon (Alexis Collette) and Gently de Muze (Nicolas Bazire), who were in the picture behind him in places three to six. Elie de Beaufour (Jean-Michel Bazire) is considered to have a good chance. The 31-time winner is in a slump of form but he should not disappoint in the trainer`s hand this time. Happy Valley (Jean-Philippe Dubois) currently announced himself emphatically as second in an `A` race and the reliably forward-running Hokkaido Jiel (David Thomain) is also conceivable in the final standings.
