Curtain up for the Grand National du Trot 2023

Amiens, 8 March: It`s that time again. Today, the first of a total of 14 stages of the Grand National du Trot (1st race/13.55 h/90,000 euros/2900 m) will be decided in Amiens. As every year, the provincial circuit ends in Paris-Vincennes, where the horses with the best points are eligible to start with the "Clôture".

16 horses in the prize category up to 442,000 Euros are divided between two ribbons. From the basic brand, Howdy Partner (Franck Nivard), who achieved good placings in Vincennes, can expect first chances. Hidalgo des Noes (Gabriele Gelormini) confidently lived up to his assessment as a big favourite in Agen-Le Passage in a `B` race and is just as highly traded as I Love Me (Tony Le Beller), who saw completely different horses in the capital but will have to cope with an allowance this time. Heliot de Cahot (Eric Raffin) is always in front when running clear and completes the circle of favourites. Fame Music (Mathieu Mottier) improved continuously. Together with the handicapped Haribo du Loisir (Leo Abrivard) and Ezalyo Smart (Yoann Lebourgeois), she is in line for the surprise.

The next `GNT` stage will take place in three weeks on 29.3 in Marseille-Borely.
