Three-year-olds in the Critérium des Jeunes

Paris-Vincennes, Sunday, February 19: The Derby of three-year-olds, or better known as the Critérium des Jeunes (6th race/16.25/200,000 euros/2700 m), is up for decision today in Paris-Vincennes. Two participants from the quarters of William Bigeon deserve the first clue. King Opera (Matthieu Abrivard) and Kana de Beylev (Benjamin Rochard) have always played at the front of the pack in their year and should strike a sharp chord when they meet for the first time. The latter most recently won the Prix Roquepine (Group 2) against, among others, the higher rated Kalamity d`Heripre (Franck Nivard), who won the Prix Gelinotte (Group 2) ahead of the Bigeon mare. Koctel du Dain (David Thomain), Kamehameha (Björn Goop) and Canada (Theo Duvaldestin) have already crossed blades several times. Whether the order will be like in the Prix Maurice de Gheest (Group 2) again depends on the course of the race. Karma Quick (Clement Duvaldestin) and Ksar (Jean-Philippe Monclin) have been unbeaten four and three times in a row respectively. Both face their toughest task yet.
