New Year`s Day at Cheltenham

Cheltenham, Sunday, 1 January: Seven top-class steeplechase races will be decided today on New Year`s Day at Cheltenham. The highlight is the Group 2 Relkeel Hurdle (5th race/15.30pm/70,000 pounds/4070m).

Marie`s Rock (Nico de Boinville) ended her last season with three victories. The last one was in the Mares Champion Hurdle (Group 1) over Stormy Ireland, who showed up last year. To beat the eight-year-old has priority I Like To Move It (Sam Twiston-Davies), who was slightly ahead in a Handicap Hurdle here on November 13. First Street (James Bowen) and Knappers Hill (Harry Cobden) are two other contenders for victory who made a big impression when winning at Newbury and Wincanton respectively recently. Dashel Drasher (Rex Dingle) was second in the Many Clouds Chase (Group 2) and Botox Has (Jamie Moore) triumphant at Haydock.
