Listed races in Fontainebleau

Fontainebleau, Friday, 25 November: Eight strongly contested races will take place in Fontainebleau today. The second Listed race, the Grand Prix de Fontainebleau (6th race/15.25 h/52,000 Euro/2000 m), is aimed at three-year-old and older mares.

In the 18-strong field, some guests from England turn up, such as Moon de Vega (Anthony Crastus), who ran in the English Mares` Derby. Jasmine Joy (Jamie Spencer), Yorkshire Lady (Joanna Mason) and Eidikos (Olivier Peslier) also come from the island, but with their partly mixed forms they are difficult to calculate. Italy is represented by Lyrical (Sergio Urru) and Zanfogna (Ioritz Mendizabal). The former recently placed at a higher level in Rome. Queen Trezy (Tony Piccone), La Fille du Sud (Hugo Journiac) and Ondulee (Enzo Corallo) fought for the best places at list level in Saint-Cloud. They are again expected to be in the front running, which also applies to Flying Beauty (Alexis Pouchin), who earns her money mainly in Quinté handicaps. Final Gesture (Mickael Barzalona) was already close to victory in Toulouse and clearly better at the finish than Zanfogna, who in turn kept Through The Mist (Simon Planque) at bay. Qarasha (Theo Bachelot) could be further ahead at the second start after the break.
