Farrell Seven the star in Vire

Vire, Wednesday, 28 September: The eleventh leg of the Grand National du Trot racing series (1st race/13.50 h/90,000 Euro/3475 m) will be decided today in Vire, where 16 horses from three bands will compete in the opening round. The Group 3 test has a clear favourite in Farrell Seven (Jean-Michel Bazire), who had no opponent to fear at the last stage in Meslay-du-Maine despite an easy allowance and was able to extend his winning streak. Nevertheless, the Bazire gelding does not face a walk in the park, as Fakir de Mahey (Mathieu Mottier) lurks in the first band. In Pornichet-La Baule, the Mottier protégé won easily ahead of Echo de Chanlecy (Tony Le Beller) and Fairplay d`Urzy (Romain Congard), who also impressed in the best places. Freyja du Pont (Nicolas Bazire) is an old acquaintance in the `GNT` who runs to the front every now and then. Edy du Pommereux (David Thomain) put in a strong performance in Vincennes in challenging company in fifth, which could be enough for a top finish today. Fakir du Lorault (Francois Lecanu) and Hirondelle du Rib (Joel Hallais), who is at her best under saddle, stand out in terms of class but have a very difficult time with maximum allowance.
