Vincennes reports back

Paris-Vincennes, Saturday, 20 August: The summer break ends today in Paris-Vincennes, where six of the eight tests will be decided at group level. Two races each for three- and four-year-olds, separated by sex, frame the Prix Louis Jariel (6th race/16.43pm/120,000 euros/2175m), which is aimed at the 2017-born crop.

Hohneck (Francois Lagadeuc), who now has an account balance of over one million euros, will start as the clear favourite. Two wins in a row speak clearly in favour of Philippe Allaire`s protégé, but Hooker Berry (Nicolas Bazire) could prove to be an unpleasant opponent, especially as he had already defeated his opponent several times. Hooker Berry`s trainer Jean-Michel Bazire prefers to ride Heraut d`Armes, who ran very well in Enghien in the Prix de la Chaussee d`Antin (Group 3) when second to Hinden (Franck Nivard). In La Capelle, Hussard du Landret (Benoit Robin) cut a good figure behind Hohneck. Hokkaido Jiel (David Thomain) surprised in the Prix Jean Le Gonidec (Group 2) behind today`s favourite.
