The Charmer in focus despite maximum weight

Deauville, Tuesday, 9 August: Arabian thoroughbreds will compete in two of the eight races in Deauville. The other six tests belong to the "English" with the Quinté starting at 1.48 pm, at the end of the racing day at 6 pm. This Prix de Bayeux runs over 1,600 metres, is endowed with 50,000 euros and is quantitatively strong with 16 participants.

Marius Falk Weißmeier brings Be My Day (Aurelien Lemaitre) to the course as the clear outsider. Others are favourites, such as The Charmer, trained by Mikel Delzangles, despite his maximum weight of 60 kilos. In his last five appearances, the gelding to be ridden by Ioritz Medizabal was always in the top three in the final. Highbari (Fabrice Veron), whose consistency is also convincing and who is ideally placed in this class, will also be competing in top form. Still little tested is Easy Amused (Mickael Barzalona), who has no experience in Quinté races. According to impressions so far, she has all the potential. After three second places in a row, Harper (Gerald Mossé) would be overdue for a win. Ascot Angel`s (Christophe Soumillon) last win was well over a year ago, but this gelding was also second twice in Quinté races last time. Now it is time to bridge a small break. Alba Power (Stéphane Pasquier) still has to prove himself in this class, but he seems to be good enough for a surprise. San Cristobal (Ronan Thomas) should be able to improve on the last two forms. Goldino Bello (Tony Piccone) took second place in this race last year.
