Clairefontaine, Monday 22 August: To conclude today`s eight-race card at Clairefontaine, the Grand Steeple-Chase - Ville de Deauville (8th race/18.00/95,000 Euro/4500 m) is up for decision. The Listed Handicap runs over the chase course and gathers 14 participants at the start.

Risk du Brizais (Pierre Dubourg) has won three of his last five starts. Fifteen days ago, he won superiorly over today`s course. The five-year-old faces strong competition like Raffles Classic (Clement Lefebvre), who could convince here twice. In June, the gelding fought his way to victory against Derby Dete (Alban Desvaux) and Dentor des Obeaux (Olivier Jouin). The latter he kept at a distance again in the fight for silver. Hispanic Moon (Kevin Nabet) pleased in fourth place behind him. King Elvis (Adrien Fouchet) and Araucarias (Bertrand Lestrade) showed their good form currently in Dieppe, where they could be seen behind the top at list level. The former finished a strong second to Calinight (Damien Mescam), who has already won three races this year, in a similar fixture on 28 July.
