Enghien takes the reins

Enghien, Wednesday 6 July: The Enghien Hippodrome will be at the centre of French harness racing in the coming weeks after Paris-Vincennes takes a summer break until 20 August. Among the better races at today`s event is the Prix Florence Lecellier (2nd race/5.15pm/57,000 Euros/2875m), in which six to ten-year-old horses are eligible to start for up to 270,000 Euros and entrants up to 160,000 Euros must pay an allowance.

Despite a number of retirements, Gana de Ligny (Matthieu Abrivard) is seen in front. The Love-You daughter won her last two races during the winter meeting in the capital. More reliable appears Geisha Speed (Jean-Philippe Monclin), who could currently please with two placings and celebrated her last victory so far in April. Galba Ringeat (Romain Derieux) has set a monument for himself at the Riviera Meeting with three victories in a row. The gelding is targeting a place in the trifecta after two rebuilding starts. Gamble River (Francois Lagadeuc) does not have it easy with allowance, but the better class speaks for him. Fregate Mesloise (Gabriele Gelormini) and Diego du Canter (Alexandre Abrivard) are also conceivable at any time in the front.
