Strongly occupied anniversary prize in Cologne

Cologne, Thursday, June 16: Good sport comes from Cologne today, where eight races will be decided from 1.30 pm. The main event marks the Jubilee Prize (5th race/15.30/22,500 euros/2100 m), in which three mares take up the Listed battle against five stallions/geldings. Alaskasonne (Andrasch Starke) recently showed an excellent performance as fourth in the Prix Corrida, which counts as a Group 2 race. The four-year-old, trained by Markus Klug, will receive support from Accola (Maxim Pecheur), who could continue last year`s winning streak after four consecutive honors at the top level. Wiesentau (Jozef Bojko) bounced back from the break with a direct hit in Leipzig and is expected to be in the trifecta. Nubius (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev) ran neatly in the Oleander race three lengths behind Loft, who was just coming on in the USA. The Schiergen protégé has every chance here. Swedish hopes rest on Moomba (Shane Karlsson), who recently finished second in the Ausgleich I in Baden Baden. Mooney Love (Rene Piechulek) has run in Italy so far, but first has to introduce himself in this country. Siluto (Alberto Sanna) disappointed far behind Moomba, before that he won twice in the Ausgleich II. Rock My Life (Sybille Vogt) did not show anything useful for quite some time.

The four-horse bet attracts with a guaranteed payout of 11,111 euros in the 2nd run to the Amateur Cup (7th race/16:30/5,150 euros/1850 m). Consistently placed Red Postman (Lize H. van Dieteren) and Baasha (Alina Meyer) are just two of many contenders for victory. Diamond Gold (Rens P. Verberkt), Best of Heaven (Anna-Lena Weidler) and Laytown (Luisa Stephanie Steudle) are also conceivable in front with her weight allowance.
