Three-year-olds put to the test

Paris-Vincennes, Friday, 13 May: The 2019 crop is under order today in Vincennes in two Group 2 tests separated by sex.

Among the stallions in the Prix Paul Karle (2nd race/19.33/120.000 Euro/2700 m), Just A Gigolo (Franck Nivard) makes his comeback. He last ran here in February, winning the Critérium des Jeunes (Group 1) as expected against fourth and fifth-placed Joyner Sport (David Thomain) and Jag Stryck (Matthieu Abrivard), among others. The latter was recently in the province at the expiry and lost after fight Javanais Delo (Louis Baudron). Jaguar Marancourt (Jean-Philippe Monclin) showed he belongs to the top of the vintage with his success in the Prix Penthesilea (Group 3) over Jakartas des Pres (Eric Raffin), Jaguar Wit (Tony Le Beller) and Javanais Delo.

There is a slightly bigger crowd in the Prix Masina mares` division (4th race/20.50 h/120,000 Euro/2700 m). Jazzy Perrine (Eric Raffin) knew how to please in her performance in the Critérium des Jeunes, even in defeat. But she was in no danger for second place against the surprising Joke (Gabriele Gelormini). Her opponents include Just Love You (Alexandre Abrivard) and Jamaica Turbo (Francois Lagadeuc), who are fighting for victory in the Prix Chatillon (group 3), and Junon (David Thomain) and Justine Vive (Anthony Barrier), who are not far behind. Jet Set Bond (Jean-Michel Bazire), who slackened somewhat in the winter after good placings, also belongs in all considerations in the hands of the champion.
