Graffard in with a chance in Prix Texanita

Chantilly, Monday 16 May: The merry-go-round of big races for Derby age horses continues to spin today at Chantilly, where the Prix Texanita (4th race/15.52/80,000 Euro/1200m) is in the spotlight.

The last time the semi-classic was held was two years ago. Wooded emerged victorious and later Francis-Henri Graffard`s protégé won the Prix de l`Abbaye (Group 1) in Longchamp. Following in his footsteps from the same quarter could be the current Maiden winner Haziym (Christophe Soumillon), but his training companion Faro de San Juan (Hugo Journiac) is also in contention for the top places after his recent `Classe 2` success. Before Dawn (Mickael Barzalona) and Copie (Maxime Guyon) have already shown usefulness this year, both are to be considered with a favourable brand. Le Cadeau (Olivier Peslier) was in contention for the win here in the Prix Sigy (Group 3) and Feel Your Power (Cristian Demuro) also finished not far from the fastest in fourth. Kingentleman (Gregory Benoist) went away empty-handed again in the same match, having already failed to pick up a premium in the Prix Djebel (Group 3) and the Prix Montenica (List race). Ebro River (Jamie Spencer) finished in the middle of the field in the Abernant Stakes (Group 3). The Palmer stallion`s most valuable victory was in the Phoenix Stakes (Group 1) last year.
