Revenge in the Prix Edmond Blanc

Saint-Cloud, Saturday, 2 April: The first Group 3 race of today`s event in Saint-Cloud is reserved for the three-year-old fillies.

The Prix Penelope (2nd race/14.33 h/80.000 Euro/2100 m) will be contested by seven horses. Agave (Olivier Peslier) goes into the match unbeaten. She recently won the Prix Rose de Mai (Listed race) in strong style against Anne de Cleves (Mickael Barzalona) and La Mandola (Eddy Hardouin), for whom a place money is again within the realms of possibility. Allada (Jean-Bernard Eyquem) did not have to push her limits in her Maiden success and, like Queen Trezy (Christophe Soumillon), who came second in the Prix des Reservoirs (Group 3), is registering the best chances.

In the Prix Edmond Blanc (5th race/16.26 h/80,000 Euro/1600 m), last year`s winner Wally (Cristian Demuro) grants revenge to the surprisingly defeated The Revenant (Christophe Soumillon). While the Rouget protégé starts without a preparatory race, the seven-year-old Group 1 winner successfully rehearsed for today`s task in the Prix Altipan (List race) here. Sibilia Spain (Aurelien Lemaitre) finished fourth twice at classic level last year. In the Prix de l`Opera (Group 1) it was only enough for seventh place. Duhail (Olivier Peslier) also contested his last race on the day of the `Arc de Triomphe` in the Prix de la Foret (Group 1) and also came away empty-handed. Fast Raaj (Gregory Benoist) underlined his good form with a sand track victory in the Prix Anabaa (Classe 1).
