Interesting three-year-olds in the Prix Penthisilea

Paris-Vincennes, Friday, April 1: An evening card of seven races is on offer today at Paris-Vincennes. In the final Prix Penthesilea (7th race/22.11pm/70,000 euros/2700m), twelve three-year-old stallions/geldings that have not won 70,000 euros are under order at Group 3 level.

For four participants the Prix du Comte Pierre de Montesson (Group 1) was the last destination and as expected there was nothing for them. Jorgos de Guez (Nicolas Bazire) and Jakartas des Pres (Franck Nivard) fared best, competing in the back third for the smallest premium. Just For Lova (Antoine Lherete) and Jasmin Merite (Julien Raffestin) lapsed into canter and were reprimanded. In the Prix Leopold Verroken (Group 3), Jakartas des Pres finished a very good honorable mention well ahead of the chanceless Jorgos de Guez, who had his last win here in January against Jaguar Marancourt (Jean-Philippe Monclin). The latter went on to win twice, each time beating Javanais Delo (David Thomain). Jaguar Wit (Tony Le Beller) and Jetpack (Eric Raffin) were recently in the picture behind Jaguar Marancourt. Dundee As (Matthieu Abrivard) makes his France debut on a winning streak from Italy and could well take the butter off the hosts. Jumanji Sibey (Louis Baudron) put in a decent performance in the Prix Emmanuel Margouty (Group 2), finishing fourth and second last.
