5 poor meetings today

Nothing to get very excited about at today´s 5 meetings - with flat racing this afternoon at Chepstow and Wolverhamptpn (tapeta) and this evening at Wetherby (!) and Windsor, while there is Irish jumps racing from Kilbeggan.

Two German-breds however have caught our eye at Chepstow - Dandy (Andrew Balding/ Cathy Gannon) over 10 furlongs at 15.30 CET and Elle Shade in a 3yo race over a mile at 16.05. The former is a Röttgen-bred from one of their best fanilies but has so far been mainly inconsistent and disappointing in the U.K.; however it could be significant that he is 2 from 2 over this CD, including when once ridden by this jockey, so a return to his best form is at least a possibility. The latter is Godolphin-owned and is out of the Group One winner Elle Danzig; his form so far is modest, but this is a very weak race and he would not need to be anything special to win in this company.
Flat racing at Wetherby is a rarity, but we like Oldjoesaid (Paul Midgley/ Graham Lee) in the 5 furlongs handicap at 20.15. This is another extremely inconsistent sort, but the 11yo was previously much better class and is now on his lowest rating for several years.

Chepstow - betting forecast:
1. Race: Mill Springs - Fern Owl - Ballynanty
2. Race: Prim And Proper - Mister Mayday - Abyaat
3. Race: Elle Shade - Thunder In Myheart - Farletti
4. Race: Carnachy - Teosroyal - Fly Alone
5. Race: Orlando Rogue - Guiding Light - Falconize
6. Race: Spirit Of Wedza - Gold Club - Jaganory
7. Race: Lucky Clover - Diamond Vine - Trending
