Exeter today

With Warwick abandoned, Exeter now hosts the only jumps racing today, but there is also all-weather racing this afternoon at Lingfield and this evening at Wolverhampton and Dundalk (Ireland).

Exeter´s card is quite attractive with some competitive handicaps and two novice hurdles whch should go to ex-French Qualando (Paul Nicholls/Sam Twiston-Davies) at 15.20 CET - he ran an excellent race on his British debut- and Twentytwo´s Taken (David Pipe/ Tom Scudamore) an hour later - although in the latter mares race Magic Magnolia (Mark Gillard/ Tom Phelan) could also be interesting if she condescends to put her best foot forward - she has often been very slowly away.

AP McCoy is here and has good chances of taking the handicap hurdle at 17.20 with top-weight, Jonjo O´Neill´s Master Malt - although this is a much more open race than the betting might suggest and we are certainly afraid of last yeat´s winner Storm Alert (Sue and Lucy Gardner)- and the handicap chase half an hour later on Rebecca Curtis´ Tara Road, where the main dangers are Ballyculla (Warren Greatrex/ Dougie Costello) - from a stable that has just hit top form - and consistent bottom-weight Big Society (Tom George/ Paddy Brennan).

The flat racing is only of minor interest, but Saskia´s Dream (Jane Chapple-Hyam/ Adam Kirby), a close fourth over this CD last time, must have a solid chance in the 6 furlongs handicap at 16.30 at Lingfield.
