Carlisle and Lingfield

back to low grade racing again today, with jumps racing at Carlisle and Lingfield and flat racing on the all-weather tapeta track at Wolverhampton. It is certainly significant that AP McCoy travels the long way north to Carlise, where he has just 3 rides, all for Jonjo O´Neill, whose stable after a poor start to the season is now in tremendous form. They run Rock´n´Rhythm in the opening novoce hurdle at 15.25 CET, Upswing in the handicap hurdle at 17.00 and Beg To Differ in a lower grade hurdle over a shorter distance an hour later. All can be expected to run well, although these races both look quite tricky and penalised Gone Forever (Brian Ellison/ Nathan Moscrop), top-weight Conquisto Ellison/ Craig Gallagher) - who has been running in miuch better races - and lightly-raced Cathedral (Philip Kirby/ Sam Twiston-Davies) look dangers in their respective races.

Lingfield has survived an early morning inspection, but the going will be very testing, especially with more rain possible. Specialists are called for here, and one we would love to see win is 17yo Victory Gunner (Richard Lee/ Michael Nolan), the oldest horse in training, who loves this ground and is certainly capable of winning the handicap chase at 15.45 under top weight, as long as he gets the run of the race, which was certainly not the case last time.

3. Race: Another Mattie - Billy Cuckoo - Dashing George
