more poor racing today

with Chepstow abandoned, we have another very poor programme again today, with Musselburgh hosting the only juimps racing, and 3 low level all-weather cards as backup, with some very small fields. Very few of the runnersat the Scottish track know how to win a race, so we make Thankyou Very Much (Jamie Bethell/ Joe Colliver) our best bet of the day in the mares novice hurdle at 14.40 CET; she won last time over hurdles over this CD and has also scored on the flat. She has to concede 6 lbs to the other runners, of whom Samedi Soir (Kerith and James Reveley) looks the best, but she should be up to the task. The Reveleys can however score with Brave Spartacus half an hour earlier while Streets Of Newyork (Brian Ellison/ Danny Cook), although raised 5 lbs for finishing second at Wetherby on Boxing Day, is our choice for the handicap hurdle at 15.10.

There are only 3 runners in the main event at Lingfield, a conditions race over 1 1/ 2 miles at 15.55, which looks at the mercy of Anglophile (Charlie Appleby/ Adam Kirby), while course specialist Solar Deity (Marco Botti/ Martin Harley) is another likely odds-on winner in the conditions race this evening at 18.15 at Wolverhampton.

Betting forecast Musselburgh:

2. Race: Brave Spartacus - Aristo Du Plessis - Lochnell
3. Race: Tara Mac - Thankyou Very Much - Samedi Soir
4. Race: It`s High Time - Teo Vivo - Avidity
5. Race: Quito Du Tresor - Riskier - Habbie Simpson
