The best racing today comes from Sandown - although tomorrow´s card featuring the Eclipse Stakes is obviously much stronger. Unfortunately the two main events, both listed races, have cut up quite a bit and only 4 run in the 2yo race over 5 furlongs at 15.30 CET. All 4 have decent winning form, but this is likely to be a match between Beacon (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes) and Mukhmal (Mark Johnston/ Paul Hanagan). The other listed race, over 10 furlongs at 16.35 has 6 runners, 3 of wnhom ran during the winter at Meydan. Indeed last year´s Cambridgeshire winner Educate (Ismail Mohammed/ Tom Queally) and Tha´ir (Saeed bin Suroor/ Andrea Atzeni) have not run since so we have to hope that they are in good form. Perhaps Godolphin´s other runner, the consistent Windhoek (Kieren Fallon) can be preferred. The handicaps here have bigger fields and look very competitive.
Over 5 furlomngd at 15.00 we hope that Tagula Night (Dean Ivory/ Ryan Moore) can notch up his fourth CD victory; he is not so well handoicapped now but clearlylovres this track. Last year´s winner Doctor Parkes (Stuart Williams/ James Doyle) is just one of many dangers. Over 10 furlongs at 17.10 we have another CD specialist engaged- Chain of Events (Michael Wigham/ William Buick), who has won his last 3 races, the last 2 of them this CD; however several of the horses that finished behind him reoppose on better terms now and he is no good thing to complete the fourtimer. Perhaps Jarraar (Hannon/ Hanagan) could be the answer; he is still a maiden but has run some good races in defeat.
Betting forecast:
1. Race: Tagula Night - New Fforest - Goldream
2. Race: Mukhmal - Beacon - Union Rose
3. Race: Mustadeem - New Brunswick - Darshini
4. Race: Educate - Windhoek - Tha`ir
5. Race: Vital Evidence - Chain Of Events - Cactus Valley
6. Race: Economy - Ronaldinho - See And Be Seen
