U.K. racing today

4 flat meetings this afternoon, and they go twice over jumps this evening. Unfortunately the bad weather continues in many areas and there are lots of non-runners, while the ground will possibly be much softer than expected. This may not be ideal for German raider Gracia Directa (Dominik Moser/ Daniele Porcu) who runs in the fillies listed race over 6 furlongs at Haydock at 16.10 CET. She was second in the race last year and we hope she goes one better today, but Joyeuse (Lady Cecil/ Ryan Moore), a half-sister to Frankel, looks a big danger. The big race at Haydock is the Group Two Temple Stakes over 5 furlongs at 15.40 and the weather will play a role here, as the best horse in the field Sole Power (Eddie Lynam/ Moore) clearly needs it as fast as possible. The 3yo Hot Streak (Kevin Ryan/ Oisin Murphy) could well go right to the top ads we make him our selection, although Kingsgate Native (Robert Cowell/ Jim Crowley), who has won this race twice before, should go well again, and if the ground turns soft. Jack Dexter (Jim Goldie/ Graham Lee) would also enter calculations.

There is also a good card at Goodwood but the fields are small as a result of all the rain. Godolphin run 3 in the opening listed race at 14.50 with French Navy (Charlie Appleby/ Adam Kirby) in the first colours, and he looks the stable´s main hope. Gatewood (John Gosden/ Frankie Dettori) back to form after an unsuccessful spell in Australia, can take the listed race half an hour later, with Kelinni (Marco Botti/ Luke Morris) the only danger. The big betting sory of couse is the Scoop6, which has reached new record levels after not being won for 12 weeks (and 9 months in the case of the huge bonus pot!). They have of course chosen the 6 toughest races, including two incredibly difficult handicaps at Catterick. For the record, our very tentative two against the field in each race are:

leg 1: Polski Max, Trader Jack
leg 2: Joe Eile, Hadaj
leg 3: Piceno, Johnny Cavagin
leg 4: Gracia Directa, Joyeuse
leg 5: Wahaab, Penny Drops
leg 6: What about Carlo, Bilimbi

good luck! (and don´t forget our commission if you win!)
