jumpers bumpers at Kempton

The idea of putting on meetings of "jumpers bumpers" has been a brilliant success and the authorities must be congratulated on today´s Kempton card, which offers 8 well contested races including some real jumping stars. First and foremost of course is My tent Or Yours (Nicky Henderson/ Tony McCoy) who runs at 17.40 CET and will be out to boost his Champion Hurdle claims. The trainerhas made it clear why he runs here - he needs a race before Cheltenham (in less than 4 weeks!) and he dislikes the prevailing heavy ground - and it will be a major shock if he gets beaten today, especially with two pacemakers in the field. Ranjaan (Paul Nicholls/ Harry Derham) who has a good course record and the lightly-raced Monsun 4yo Dispour (Donald McCain/ Jason Maguire) are likely to follow him home.

Jumpers bumpers races can be tricky for punters, as form in flat races or over hurdles does not always work out, but the same trainers seem to win most of the time and we expect Messrs Henderson and Nicholls to dominate proceedings today. Henderson can also take the first and last races with Bringithomeminty and Tanks for That at 14.30 and 18.10 respectively, both partnered by stable jockey Barry Geraghty, while Nicholls can counter with Foggys Well at 15.00, As De Mee (part-owned by Oscar winner Judy Dench) half an hour later, and Silsol - who has a good German pedigree- at 16.35, all ridden by Harry Derham.
