Navan and Wolverhampton

There are some huge fields at today´s Irish N.H. meeting at Navan, but only 3 run in the main event, a 2 mile hurdle race at 14.10 CET. This looks at the mercy of the unbeaten Un de Sceaux (Williue Mullins/ Ruby Walsh), a Champion Hurdle entry who has plenty in hand on ratings.Foildubh (John Ryan/ Paul Carberry) is a useful chaser, but it will be a major surprise if he can topple the hot favourite here. Things did not go to plan for Mullins yesterday (as we predicted), but we expect another successful afternoon and Arklan (Walsh) at 13.40 and Milsean (Paddy Mullins) in the bumper at 16.40 are other likely winners. Mullins and Walsh also team up with Popcorn in the 2 1/2 mile handicap chase at 16.10. but this one has not run for more than 2 years.

Frankly, we would rather leave the Wolverhampton all-weather alone, as it is very poor and the small fields mean that normal each-way betting is only possible in two races. They are the first and last races at 14.00 and 17.00 and in both we fancy a runner owned by Dr. Marwan Koukash, trained by Richard Fahey and ridden by George Chaloner -Parisian Pyramid and Kyllachy Star respectively.
