listed races this evening in Ireland

once again, the best racing is staged in Ireland, where Tipperary has two listed races this evening. The race over 5 furlongs at 18.35 Looks wide open. Cape of Approval (Tommy Stack/ Willie Lee) is arguably the best horse in the race and has won his last two races, including a ,listed race at Cork in June, but he is penalised as a result. At These weights we prefer the 3yo filly Boston Rocker (Eddie Lynam/ Declan McDonogh), who has been placed on her 2013 starts, and Russian Soul (Mike Halford/ Shane Foley), whose third last form, when runner-up to Slade Power in a Curragh Group Three should be good enough to win this. We cannot fancy Aidan O´Brien´s Infanta Branca (Joseph O´Brien), who has been running over longer distances, but the O´Brien´s can take the 2yo event at hour later with Indian Maharaja, who won her only start in good style. 5 of the 6 runners here are winners, the exception being Jim Bolger´s Ceisteach (Kevin Manning), who is making her debut in good company; h owever this trainer knows what he is doing, so she must be respected.
The best race in the U.K. is the 1 3/4 handicap at 16.00 at Musselburgh, with some decent performers engaged. Top-weight Tropical Beat (David O´Meara/ Danny Tudhope) was close to listed class when trained by John Gosden, but is now coming off a long break. O Ma Lad (John Quinn/ Matt O´Connell) has won both 2013 starts, but they were back in the spring, while Hawdyerwheest (Jim Goldie/ Graham Lee), also going for a hat-trick, looks more dangerous moving up in grade but off a low weight. However our main preference is for German-bred Noble Alan (Nicky Richards/ Paul Mulrennan), a useful hurdler who has run well in strong company on both his starts this season.
Brighton´s big August meeting ends today, and yesterday´s big winner Beacon Lady (William Knight/ Oisin Murphy) is expected to make a quick reappearance under a huge weight in the 1 1/2 miles handicap at 15.40. If she does and is in the same mood, she can hardly lose here as she has a fantastic CD record and easily beat much better opposition yesterday, for which she has only a 6 lbs penalty.
