6 meetings today

plenty of racing today, but the sport on offer in the U.K. is all at a very low level and there are some very small fields as well. Easily the best race is the listed event at 20.05 CET at the Irish evening Meeting at Navan. Magical Dream (Aidan and Joseph O´Brien) looks hard to beat here. She has a 3 lbs penalty for winning a Group race last year, but her best form came when 3 lengths 4th to Sunday´s 1000 Guineas winner Sky Lantern in the Group One Moyglare Stakes last year. None of the 6 opponents this evening, the best of whom are probably Alive Alive O (Tommy Stack/ Fran Berry) and Harmonic Note (Ger Lyons/ EJMcNamara), can boast form which is even remotely comparable.
Tracy Waggott has her small stable in terrific form, and we would not be at all surprised to see her 3 runners this evening at Catterick run well- Croftamie at 19.40, Tuibama at 21.40, both ridden by Royston Ffrench, and Solar Spirit at 20.10 with Graham Lee aboard.
This afternoon´s racing is frankly awful, but our eye is drawn to some old friends riunning on the all-weather at Kempton. Dvinsky (Roger Ingram/ Ian Mongan) makes his 228th start - a British record- in the 7 furlongs handicap at 16.10 here. He is not the most consistent these days, but has had a short break and is racing off a very lenient mark. He is making his first start for a new trainer at the age of 12 and we hope he runs well. We also like Lastkingofscotland (Conor Dore/ Hayley Turner) here at 17.40, not so well handicapped but runs his best races over this CD, and German-bred Querido (Paddy Butler/ Michael Murphy) at 18.40.
