Black Caviar retired, Dabirsim also

Two news items to start off with - two great champions of the turf have been retired. The connections of the greeat Australian mare Black Caviar announced today that she has run her last race; she was unbeaten 25 starts, incliuding 15 Group Ones, most recently last Saturfay, and was undoubtedly one of the best sprinters ever to grace the turf. And from France comes the news that the champion European 2yo of 2011, Dabirsim (owned of course by our boss) has been retired; he never recovered properly from the injury he picked up when defeated as odds-on favourite in last year´s French 2,000 Guineas, but his outstanding juvenile campaign guarantees him a place in racing history.
