3 jumps meetings this afternoon

while it was all flat racing yesterday, all 3 meetings this afternoon are N.H. affairs, although there is flat racing later at Kempton (all-weather) and Limerick (Ireland).
Punters should be warned that there has been overnight rain and the going has eased everywhere- particularly at Fontwell where it will be very soft and there are lots of non-runners as a result. Rosoff (Laura Mongan/ Nathan Adams) goes on this ground and has an each-way chance in the handicap hurdle at 16.50 CET. The best race here is the 2 3/4 mile handicap chase at 17.20, in which top-weight Fruity O´Rooney (Gary and Jamie Moore) is the likely favourite; he ran a good race at Ascot last time in much better company, but that was only 4 days ago and we prefer bottom-weight Venetian Lad (Lydia Richards/ Marc Goldstein), who is 3 lbs out of the handicap but all of whose 4 career wins have come at this track.
The going should be good at Ludlow, which will suit the ex-German Oldrik (Philip Hobbs/ Richard Johnson) in the 2 1/2 mile handicap chase at 16.40. After some poor performances on heavy ground, his handicap mark has slipped to a very favourable level. However this is a very tricky race, with course specialists Cootehill (Nigel and Sam Twiston-Davies) and Up to the Mark (Henry Daly/ Paddy Brennan) in opposition, as well as the classy top-weight Michael Flips (Andy Turnell/ James Banks).
After a relatively disappointing season, Alan King´s horses have suddenly hit top form, and we would not be surprised to see him win 3 races at Wincanton with Midnight Prayer at 15.30, Henry San half an hour later and Turn Over Sivola at 17.00, all partnered by Wayne Hutchinson. Our best bet here however is Addiction (Jeremy Scott/ Nick Scholfield) at 16.30, who ran out a very easy winner at Exeter last week and should be able to defy a 7 lbs penalty.
Another ex-German horse who could be of interest today is Ordensritter (Chris Down/ Jemma Marshall), who runs in the 2 mile handicap at Kempton at 21.00 this evening. He had no chance in the 2011 German Derby, but this is much more his level and after his narrow defeat over this CD last month, we think he can win this time.
