Lingfield today

with both turf meetings abandoned (and more abandonments quite possible in the next few days) Lingfield is the only track racing today. With small fields (4 races with six runners ort less) and low class racing, this card is not at all punter friendly and, to be honest, we would rather keep our powder dry and wait for the Dubai World Cup on Saturday or next week´s Grand National meeting.

The best betting race is the 7 furlongs handicap at 16.10 CET, where 4 of the 8 runners are last-time-out winners, including top-weight Elusive Hawk, who scored by 5 lengths at Wolvethampton a week ago; however he seems best at 6 furlongs, and we prefer West Leake (Paul Burgoyne/ Liam Keniry), who has a good CD record and goes well for this jockey. It could be a good day for the trainer, who has another winning chance with Irene Kennet (Hayley Turner) at 17.40; she has been in great form this year. although all her recent form has been at Kempton. Another horse enjoying a fruitful 2013 is Mubtadi (Ismail Mohammed/ Thomas Brown), unbeaten in 3 starts this year and all with this promising appentice in the saddle. He is however stepping up in distance at 18.10, and we therefore prefer Conducting (Gay Kelleway/ Neil Callan), already twice a winner over this CD this year.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Prince Of Burma - Alhaban - Mister Green
2. Race: Marmot Bay - Hidden Link - Mudaawem
3. Race: Elusive Hawk - West Leake - Valdaw
4. Race: Amethyst Dawn - Red Larkspur - Catalinas Diamond
5. Race: Limit Up - Uganda Glory - Clearing
6. Race: Mount Abora - Cozy Tiger - Irene Kennet
7. Race: Mubtadi - Chrissycross - Bernisdale
