Huntingdon ON after inspection

Huntingdon has unexpectedly called for an inspection after a sharp frost this morning. If racing goes ahead, the most interesting race would be the 4yo hurdle at16.15, where 10 of the 12 runners are still entered in the Triumph Hurdle. With rather confusing form lines, and several of the runners having flat form to their credit, this is not an easy race to sum up, but we like Zamdy Man (Venetia Williams/ Aidan Coleman), who won on the flat at Newmarket and was disgraced in his hurdles debut in top company; he is closely related to German champion Lando. Seventh Sign (Alan King/ Robert Thornton) won on his only hurdles start and had winning form on the flat in Ireland, as does debutant Brinestine (Paul Nichols/ Daryl Jacob).

Williams and Coleman can also take the handicap chase at 15.05 with Special Robon, who would probably have won last time at Leicester but for taking the wrong course; top-weIght Papradon (NIgel Twiston-davies/ Daryl Jacob) looks the main danger. Jacob could be in for a good day as we also fancy David Arbuthnot´s Shiuil Royale at 15.40, while German-bred Promised Wings (Chris Gordon/ Mark Goldstein) is a speculative each-way choice in the long distance hurdle handicap that opens the card at 14.35.

Later: Huntingdon is ON!
