Just two all-weather cards today

With Plumpton off, there are just two all-weather cards today, at Kempton and Wolverhampton. Tomorrow´s Taunton meeting has already been abandoned, while the Lingfield fixture, originally a N.H. meeting, will now be an all-weather flat card. With a rainy week expected following the thaw, it is likely that there will be more abandonments, as several racecourses are currently waterlogged.

Today´s cards are very low level with very few races of interest. The "best" event at Kempton is the 11 furlongs handicap at 17.20 CET; hot trainer David Simcock has pulled out top-weight English Summer and relies on Nave (Martin Lane), who looks very dangerous off a low weight. However we just prefer Noguchi (Mike Murphy/ Tom McLaughlin), who finished behind Wildomar (John Ryan/ Adam Kirby) last time here but is slighlty better off at the weights and may be better suited by this distance.

At Wolverhampton, Bussa (David Evans/ Josh Baudains), first or second on his last 5 starts and just beaten here on Friday, has an obvious chance in the 7 furlongs handicap at 16.40, but his rider is relatively inexperienced and stable-companion Jack my Boy (Jimmy Fortune) can be preferred. However the interesting one here is Masked Dance (Scott Dixon/ Ian Mongan), who was running in much better races not so long ago. Now on a long losing run, he has come down a huge amount in the weights and with his stable now coming back into form, could well run a big race at a good price.
