4 Meetings today

Four meetings today and with the exception of Roscommon in Ireland, which has a mixed meeting including two races over hurdles, they are all on the flat and all with very soft ground. The most interesting race at Musselburgh is the 2 mile handicap at 16.15CET. Jim Goldie has two runners, the German-bred Los Nadis (Graham Lee) and Jonny Delta (Joe Fanning). The latter is arguably better handicapped.

But Los Nadis just keeps on winning and loves this track; even though he is up in the weights following his latest Ayr success, we hope he can score again. Orsippus (Mike Smith/ Andrew Mullen) is a useful hurdler and could be the danger, even though his recent flat form is poor. Goldie has put his wife up on another German-bred, the 10yo Soprano, in a 2 mile handicap for lady riders at 18.20 and this one could also run well.

At Salisbury, Gregorian (John Gosden/ William Buick) looks a near certainty in the conditions race over 7 furlongs at 17.00, but is bound to be at long odds-on. From the betting point of view, the 1 3/4 mile handicap at 18.00 is the best race here. Lightly-raced Malekov (Sir Henry Cecil/ Tom Queally) is likely to be warm favourite here, but we will take him on with The Betchworth Kid (Hayley Turner), now back with Michael Bell, who has dropped to a very nice weight. Woolfall Treasure (Gary Moore/ George Baker), who won this race in 2010, looks a big danger.

The best recipe for success at Windsor is usually to follow Richard hannon and his stable jockey/ son-in-law Richard Hughes) and they can land a hat-trick today with Pivotal Movement at 15.00, East Texas Kid half an hour later and Duke of Clarence at 18.10. Hughes is now certain to be champion jockey in the U.K. and Joseph O´Brien is on the best way to becoming his Irish counterpart, a tremendous achievement in view of his weight. He can score again at Roscommon on his father´s Exact in the 10 furlongs maiden at 16.20.
