big handicaps with big fields

the remaining cards are notable for some hot handicaps, some with very big fields, such as the two big 6 furlongs races at Ripon with 20 runners each. The Great St. Wilfrid Handicap at 16.30 CET is one of the best of the year and many of the runners ran at Glorious Goodwood, either in the Stewards Cup or the consolation race. Also in the line-up are the first two from last year, Pepper Lane (David O´Meara/ Danny Tudhope) and Our Jonathan (Kevin Ryan/ Stephen Craine). Goodwood form points to Alben Star (Richard Fahey/ Tony Hamilton), 5th in the Stewards Cup, Es Que Love (Mark Johnston/ Fran Berry), 7th, while we would not be surprised to see Lexi´s Hero (Kevin Ryan/ Neil Callan), who made much of the running, and Seal Rock (Henry Candy/ Paul Mulrennan), finish much closer this time. Johannes (Fahey/ George Chaloner) and Our Jonathan finished 1-2 in the consolation race at Goodwood, but this looks even harder. Almost anything is possible here, but we with some hesitation go for Es Que Love, the only 3yo in the field, who can continue the stables good run.
The consolation race at 15.20 looks equally difficult. Our 3 against the field are Fast Shot (Tim Easterby/ David Allan), L´ami Louis (Henry Candy/ Fran Berry) and Beckermet (Ruth Carr/Dale Swift), 10 years old but no back number.
