Listed race at Hamilton

Even without Leicester - abandoned as the track is still waterlogged - there are 5 meetings in the U.K. which seems plenty enough. The quality is nowhere near as good as it is at the Irish cards today, but the Scottish track at Hamilton stages a listed race for 3yo s over 1 mile 3 furlongs at 17.00, which has attracted quite a strong field.´Quite a few of the 8 runners ran at Royal Ascot, where Ed De Gas (Rae Guest/ Chris Catlin) was third in the Queens Vase and Fennell Bay (Mark Johnston/ Joe Fanning) won a valuable handicap; seventh in that race was Sparkling Portait (Richard Fahey/ Paul Hanagan), but he had a very unlucky run and now meets Fennell Bay on 8 lbs better terms, so we expect him to turn the tables now. Naseem Alyasmeen (Mick Channon/ Martin Harley) was second in the Bahrain Tropy at Newmarket last week, but the one they all have to beat is the very well-bred filly Albamara (Sir Mark Prescott/ Luke Morris).

The other U.K. races are of minor interest., but we expect Woolston Ferry (Henry Candy/ Dane O´Neill) to complete a four-timer at 20.05 at Bath, as he still seems very well handicapped and won over this CD last time after previously being

regarded as an all-weather specialist. It is unusual to find a Godolphin runner in a class 4 handicap, but that is the case at Epsom at 20.45 this evening and we think that Tamarrud (Saeed bin Suroor/ Silvestre de Sousa) could be good enough to take this modest event under top weight.
