Catterick, Worcester, Kempton

The 3 cards that are left are not especially inviting, and this applies particularly to the two afternoon meetings. At Catterick we recommend the lightly-raced Miss Ellany (David O´Meara/ Daniel Tudhope) in the 7 furlongs handicap at 16.20 CET. The lightly-raced filly ran in Ireland last year, but showed much improved form on her first start for her new trainer 3 weeks ago when readily winning a Beverley maiden and faces weak opposition here. She will however almost certainly start as hot favourite. At Worcester the German-bred Lava Lamp (Evan Williams/ Conor Ring), a half-brother to Lady Marian, has top-weoight in the handoicap nhurdöer at 17.40. He is the best horse in the race, but the heavy ground is not in his favour and he is ridden by a relatively inexperienced claimer, so we prefer Stage Acclaim (Dr. Richard Newland/ Tom O´Brien) who has won his last two races, both in the last 3 weeks and can score again.

A more likely German-bred winner is Rumh (Saeed bin Suroor/ Frankie Dettori), a daughter of Monsun who is now with Godolphin, for whom she has acted as pacemaker several times. She is now running on her own account in the 2 mile handicap at 21.00 at Kempton and seems very attractively weighted. At 20.35 we also hope that the Samum gelding All the W inds (Sam Lycett/ Ryan Powell) runs well; he is very inconsistent, both on the flat and over jumps, but both his flat wins have come at this track.
