Brownstown Stakes now at Naas

The Group Three Brownstown Stakes for filles and mares over 7 furlongs, which has already been cancelled twice following two abandonments at Fairyhouse, will now be run this evening at 20.30 at Naas (weather permitting!). As we wrote yesterday, this is one of the weakest group races of the year and has cut up even further with just 5 runners. After (Aidan and Joseph O´Brien) is clear best on ratings, having finished fourth in the French 1,000 Guineas, and stands out on form. Marvada (Keith Condon/ Shane Foley), the only 4yo in the field, is probably next best, though lightly-raced Singing Bird (David Wachman/ Wayne Lordan) could also run well. The rest of the Naas card is pretty uninspiring, though it is possible that here might be some decent horses in the two 2yo maidens that open the meeting. There is also an Irish jumps meeting today at Wexford, where the best race is the 2 miles 1 furlong chase at 15.45. Raptor (Willie Mullins/ Ruby Walsh) - not to be confused with the ex-German horse of the same name - is the best performer in the small field and can give away weight all round. The improved Bally Green (Mouse Morris/ David Casey) has won his last two races and looks the main danger.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Parliament Square - Impound - Three Sea Captains
2. Race: Where - Magical Dream - Fascinate
3. Race: Stones Peak - Ningaloo Reef - Little Village
4. Race: After - Marvada - Singing Bird
5. Race: Custom Cut - Ahimsa - Tamam Namoose
6. Race: Unanimous - Loreto - Tandem
7. Race: Pivot Bridge - The Fox Tully - Teofolina
