Royal Ascot: Coronation Stakes

The Group One Coronation Stakes for 3yo fillies over the round mile at 16.45 CET is the big race on the fourth day of Royal Ascot, and features the winners of the English 1,000 Guineas Homecoming Queen (Aidan and Joseph O´Broien) and the Irish version Samitar (Mick Channon/ Martin Harley), as well as the latter´s stable companion LÖaugh Out Loud (Frankie Dettori), well-beaten at Newmarket but an impressive winner twice since, and Starscope (John Gosden/ Jimmy Fortune), runner-up at the Curragh. Although Gosden´s stable jockey William Buick now prefers tp ride Fallen For You, we cannot see anything outside these four winning here and our selection is Homecoming Queen, who made all the running at Newmarket to win by 9 lengths. The ground was soft that day, and much faster when she was behind Samitar at the Curragh, so should be in her favour again. German-owned Bigue d´Amour (Alain de Royer-Dupré/ Maxime Guyon) is an interesting runner from France, but on latest form looks wel l held by Laugh Out Loud.
