classic trials at Lingfield

there was a time when the Oaks and Derby trials at Lingfield were the most significant races leading up to Epsom, but that is no longer the case, and even less so today, when both races are run on polytrack because the turf track is waterlogged. The Derby Trial at 16.10 CET could well go to Goldoni (Andrew Balding/ David Probert), who won a similar race at Epsom but as a gelding is not even eligible for the Derby. Ed de Gas (Rae Guest/ Chris Catlin) and Main Sequence (David Lanigan/ Ted Durcan) are both unbeaten in 3 starts and could be dangerous, but are both moving up in grade here. Most of the fillies in the Oaks Trial at 15.40 are having only their second or third start. so there is little form to go on, but Vow (William Haggas/ Johnny Murtagh) created a favourable impression when winning on her debut and could be quite smart.
The Group 3 Chartwell Fillies Stakes at 15.10 could go to Chachamaidee (Sir Henry Cecil/ Tom Queally) and trainer and jockey have two more good chances with World Domination at 16.45 and Emilio Largo at 17.20.

Betting forecast:

3. Race: Main Sequence - Rougemont - Goldoni
4. Race: World Domination - Beachfire - Cai Shen
