6 meetings today

Plenty of racing today, but as is normal for a Tuesday, nothing of great importance. In the U.K., the racing this afternoon at Hereford and Wincanton and this evening at Southwell is over jumps, while the third day of the Irish meeting at Killarney has a mixed card of 3 chases followed by 4 flat races.

The flat racing comes from Beverley this afternoon and from the all-weather at Kempton in the evening. It is not often that one sees Ryan Moore riding at Beverley, but he is there for 3 rides today, and we expect him to win the 3yo maiden at 17.30 CET on Sir Michael Stoute´s Courage. The gelding made a decent debut at Newmarket a month ago and the Stoute stable has now hit form. Moore´s other mounts, Ed Dunlop´s Bursting Bubbles at 16.30 and Clive Brittain´s Quixote at 18.00 also have chances, although both these races look tricky. Stoute also sends two runners to Kempton, and Kieren Fallon partners them both - Strident Force at 19.20 and Top Diktat at 22.20, both of whom should also be thereabouts.

Over jumps, it is interesting that Venetia Williams, another trainer in form, has no runners at her local meeting Hereford, but instead has two runners at Wincanton - Plein Pouvoir at 16.10 and Kahsabelle half an hour later, both with Aidan Coleman in the saddle. They are the two top weights, but in each case the opposition looks weak, and they could easily both win.

At Killarney, we expect the smart hurdler Carlito Brigante (Gordon Elliott/ Davy Russell) to make a winning debut over fences at 19.30, while Thomasgainsborough (Aidan and Joseph O´Brien) can continue the winning run of the stable´s 3yo´s by taking the handicap for that age group at 20.30.
