Two poor meetings today

Very low level sport at today´s two meetings- on the flat at Redcar and over jumps at Kelso. However it is surely significant that Kieren Fallon travels to Redcar for just one ride - James Tate´s Shamardellah in the 3yo mile handicap at 16.45 CET. Although she was only 5th on her seasonal reappearance at Limgfield last month, even that form may be good enough in this lowly company.

Ghalaa (Mark Johnston/ Paul Hanagan), twice runner-up from 3 starts last year. looks the main danger. Hanagan also has a good chance on Richard Fahey´s Lady Loch in the 3yo maideen half an hour earlier. At Kelso we are interested in German-bred Solis´ (James Ewart/ Henry Brooke) prospects in the conditional jockeys handicap hurdle at 15.30. He has not run for almost 2 years but seems very well handicapped on his old form. Beidh Tine Anseo (Lucinda Russell/ Grant Cockburn) is clearly the one to beat. Russell could be the trainer to follow here today, as Pena Dorada (Peter Buchanan) at 16.00 and Kai Broon (Campbell Gillies) at 16.30 also have winning chances. Easement (George and Jonathan Bewley) was runner-up over this CD 10 days ago and can go one better in the handicap hurdle at 18.00. Punters are warned that the weather forecast is very bad for Scotland today and the going could well change dramatically.
