rest of U.K. and Irish racing

Wolverhampton stages its biggest card of the year with the listed race over 7 furlongs opening proceedings at 15.20 CET. Trainer Scott Dixon holds a strong hand here with Docofthebay (Ian Mongan) and Capone (Shane Kelly), who had the better placing last time at Lingfield. However Docothebay, runner-up here last year, is better drawn now and is preferred. Night Lily (Paul d´Arcy/ William Carson) looks a big danger, and so is Libys Dream (Tom Dascombe/ Richard Kingcote), who is moving up in grade. The Lincoln Trial, a mile handicap at 16.30, is the other big race here and Richard Fahey is the trainer who is double-handed this time, with Prime Exhibit (Lee Topliss) and Tarooq, the choice of stable jockey Paul Hanagan. However the one we like best is top-weight Mia´s Boy (Chris Dwyer/ George Baker), who finished behind Tarooq last time but was badly hampered, and usually runs well at this track.
There is also N.H. racing Chepstow and Ayr, but at a much lower level than at Sandown. Jason Maguire looks the jockey to follow at the Welsh track; he has winning chances on Tiger Maguire at 15.30, My Boy Paddy at 16.05 and Buffalo Bob at 17.50. At the Scottish track, we like course specialist Prosecco (Lucinda Russell/ Peter Buchanan) at 17.00, while another CD specialist Sammy Spiderman (Alastair and Ernie Whillans) may have to give best at 16.25 to Tipsy Dara (Neil and Lucy Alexander)
The best race at the Irish meeting at Gowran Park is the handicap chase at 16.55. Jigalo (Joanna Morgan/ Ben Cooper) has been racing in better company and seems nicely handicapped here.
