Dubai World Cup Carnival Meeting continues today

The main event at Meydan today is the Group Three UAE Oaks over 9 furlongs for 3yo fillies at 16.20 CET. This looks at the mercy of Pimpernel (Mahmood al Zarooni/ Frankie Dettori), who finished runner-up to the smart Gamilati in the UAE 1,000 Guineas here, with 4 of today´s 5 opponents well behind. Aslindi (Ali Rashid al Raihe/ Royston Ffrench), third that day, could come out best of them again, but the only danger to Pimpernel is probably her stable companion Falls of Lara (Mikael Barzalona), who has not run since the Arc meeting. Godolphin and Dettori could also win a couple of races on the undercard but surprisingly Godolphin has no runner in the listed Meydan Classic for 3yo´s over a mile at 16.45.
