5 more poor meetings today

Racing continues at very low level in the U.K. and Ireland today. At Ayr, the best race is the 10 furlongs handicap at 17.10 CET. This looks very open with 14 runners; our 3 against the field are top-weight Veroon (James Given/ Dale Swift), dropoing in grade, German-bred Daring Dream (Jim Goldie/ Gary Bartley) and Gala Casino Star (Richard Fahey/ Paul Hanagan). The only other flat racing is on the all-weather Wolverhampton this evening, woth very poor sport. It might be significant that Kieren Fallon, still hoping to be crowned champion jockey, has several rides here.

Over jumps, David Pipe launches an attack on Exeter today with runners in almost every race. Shallow Bay at 15.20, Surfboard at 16.20, Soulard at 17.20, all with Tom Scudamore aboard, and Tigger (Conor O´Farrell) at 17.50 look to be his best chances. At Worcester it could be the turn of Tim Vaughan and Richard Johnson to shine. They can successfully team up with Elsadeer at 15.30, Loco Grande at 16.30 and Kackhanded half an hour later, among others
