Wiener Walzer at Longchamp

Longchamp begins its prestigious programme of Sunday racing today when the main event is the Group Two Prix d´Harcourt over 2000 metres at 16.10 CET. The 2009 German Derby winner Wiener Walzer is an interesting runner here. he is making his debut for trainer Andre Fabre and wil be ridden by Maxime Guyon. Getting 3 pounds from his main opponents, he has a good each-way chance in this high class field. Last time out, he was unplaced in the "Arc", behind Planteur (Elie Lellouche/ Christophe Soumillon) but in front of Timos (Thierry Doumen/ Sylvain Ruis). Planteur is clearly the class act in this field, having also been runner-up in the Jockey-Club, but his trainer warns that he may need the race. Fabre´s other runner Ley Hunter (Mikael Barzalona) is moving up in grade but has done nothing wrong so far and must be respected, while Silver Pond (Carlos Laffon-Parias/ Davy Bonilla) is a danger to all.
