Carlisle (N.H.), Hereford (N.H.) and Wolverhampton (a.w.)

Venetia Williams is usually worth following at Hereford, her local track, and we expect her to have some winners today. Old Way can start the ball rolling in the maiden hurdle at 15.20 CET and Quartz de Thaix can follow up in the beginners chase half an hour later; he was easily the best of these runners over hurdles. Rileyev at 17.20 and Buffalo Stampede at 17.50 also have chances for the stable, all of whose runners are partnered by Aidan Coleman. We also fancy Simply Wings (Richard Lee/ Robert Thornton) at 16.20 and Royal Chantelier (Michael Blake/ RJ Killoran) here, while there could be a German-bred winner in Galantos (Mrs. Nelmes/ Joshua Moore) in the final race at 18.20.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Old Way - Cotillion - Cottage Acre
2. Race: Quartz De Thaix - South O`The Border - Swansbrook
3. Race: Old Wigmore - Listenlook - Simply Wings
4. Race: Royal Chatelier - French Ties - Himayna
5. Race: Rileyev - Mujamead - Betty Browneyes
6. Race: Buffalo Stampede - Abey M`Boy - Massini Sunset
7. Race: Decent Lord - Seasonselite - Galantos

The trainers to follow at Carlisle could be Donald McCain and Chris Grant. The former can take the first two races with Storming Gale and Identity Parade, and also has a chance at 17.40 with Finlay, all ridden by Jason Maguire, while the latter can saddle two winners in Star Player (Denis O´Regan) at 16.40 and Mister Pete (Anton Voy) at 17.10.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Storming Gale - Senor Alco - Jammia
2. Race: Identity Parade - Overbranch - Primrose Time
3. Race: Teenage Idol - Cool Operator - Bishops Heir
4. Race: Victory Gunner - Star Player - Money Order
5. Race: Mister Pete - Degas Art - Double Eagle
6. Race: Finlay - Work Boy - Stoway
7. Race: Cometotheboardroom - Vintage Star - Edmund

Another possible German-bred winner is Bright Sparky (Mick Easterby/ Jake Greenall) in the second division of the amateur riders handicap at 16.00 at Wolverhampton. He is penalised 6 lbs for winning over this CD last Friday but usually runs well here and has most to fear from Captain Cool (Richard Hannon/ Emily Jones) and Castlebury (Ruth Carr/ Willie Twiston-Davies). Mark Johnston introduces a well-bred newcomer in the maiden race here at 17.30, but the stable´s runners often need their first outing and preference is for Maher (David Slimcock/ Martin Lane, who appeared slightly unlucky not to win when heavily backed here last time.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Noah Jameel - Laura Land - Barbirolli
2. Race: Bright Sparky - Captain Cool - Wrecking Crew
3. Race: Rylee Mooch - Spontaneity - Restless Bay
4. Race: Erinjay - I Confess - Collect Art
5. Race: Maher - Strophic - Harry Lime
6. Race: Lean Machine - King Of Connacht - Strong Vigilance
7. Race: Kentish - Tax Break - Crown Counsel
8. Race: Mount Hollow - Piccolo Express - Spin Again
