No jumps racing today

Once again, all today´s jumps meetings have been cancelled (Fontwell and Sedgefield) and the frosty weather is still with us, leaving the outlook for the next few days very grim. Tomorrow´s cards at Hexham and Leicester have already been abandoned, as well as the big Irish meeting at Fairyhouse, while Thursday´s Irish meeting at Punchestown is also off. Both these Irish meetings, featuring several Grade One races, have already been rescheduled and it is hoped to stage the Fairyhouse meeting this Saturday and Punchestown and Tuesday. Ludlow and Taunton on Thursday have already been called off, while Huntingdon looks very doubtful. The fixtures at the weekend are also in danger unless the cold snap ends quickly, but it seems that officials at Cheltenham are confident that their big meeting on Friday and Saturday will go ahead as planned.
