all racing off today!

following another heavy overnight frost, the last remaining meetings today at Fontwell and Wolverhampton have been abandoned, leaving Boxing Day, normally one of the best days of the year, totally blank.
It is still hoped to race at Kempton tomorrow, in which case the two Grade One races scheduled for today- the King George VI Chase and the Christmas Hurdle - would be added to the card. Although the track seems optimistic - they say it is 70/30 likely to go ahead -we would not be so confident but certainly hope they are right.
A thaw is expected to start tomorrow, but whether it is too late to save fixtures for the first half of the week remains to be seen. All jumps fixtures up to Wednesday in the U.K. and Ireland look doubtful, and several have already been called off.
