Leicester, Kempton and Southwell

The most interesting feature of today´s 3 flat fixtures in the U.K. is that Godolphin have runners at all 3 meetings and should certainly have some winners. Stable jockey Frankie Dettori travels to Leicester for just one ride, the ex-German Peligroso in a conditions race over 1 1/2 miles at 16.00 CET. He found 1 3/4 miles too far last time, but this trip is well within reach and he will have the very soft ground he needs.

He only has 3 opponents today, the best of whom is probably Via Galilei (Gary Moore/Richard Hughes), but it will be disappointing if Peligroso does for win this easily, although he will be at a very short price. The mile handicap half an hour later is a better betting race. The very lightly-raced Heddwyn (Marcus Tregoning/ Seb Sanders) and Green Destiny (William Haggas/ Adam Beschizza) are certainly capable of improvement, but we prefer the top-weight Fastnet Storm (Tom Tate/ Neil Callan), very reliable at this level.

On the all-weather at Kempton Godolphin have two runners engaged in the maiden race for 2yo´s at 15.40 - Splash Point (Mahmoud al Zarooni/ Ahmed Adjebi) and Jaridh (Saeed bin Suroor/ Ted Durcan), but Zain Shamardal (Brian Meehan/ William Buick) looks a tough opponent. Buick also rides John Gosden´s Fortunateencounter, the danger to Godolphin´s Alareen (Durcan) in the 2yo fillies maiden half an hour later. Denis Coakley´ s Jovial (John Fahy) has no penalty for a very easy win in an apprentice race last week and can score again at 18.10.
There is also racing on the all-weather at Southwell, where we expect Godophin´s Powerful Melody (Daragh O´Donohoe) to complete a good day for the stable by winning the 1 1/2 mile handicap at 17.20.
