Richard Hughes at Ffos Las

After the top races at the weekend today´s cards are a definite anti-climax. The "best" race is possibly the 1 3/4 mile handicap at 17.20 at Ffos Las. Jimmy Quinn rides John Mackie´s much-improved Fantino here, who has won 3 of his last 4 starts, but our preference is for Aurorian (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes), who was 4th in a much better race at York last time. It could be a good afternoon for Hughes, who still has an outside chance of being champion jockey for the first time; he also has winning chances on Supercharged for Chris Wall at 15.20, Magic Jack, for Hannon again, at 15.50 and on Rock the Stars an hour later for John Hills.

Hannon has runners everywhere today and has booked Ryan Moore to ride a couple at Bath, but Moore´s presence here is mainly because of Sir Michael Stoute´s two runners, Kinyras at 16.30 and the very well-bred Mascarene half an hour later, both of whom should start favourite and have a winning chance on their latest form. Moore also partners one of our favourite horses The Tatling in the 5 furlongs handicap at 18.00. The 13yo has already run 146 times, winning 16 races and being placed a further 39 times, and can improve his record against this lowly opposition; he has top-weight, but is in fact on his lowest mark for many years.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Supercharged - Button Moon - Yellow Dandy
2. Race: Magic Jack - Meia Noite - Nadinska
3. Race: Bermondsey Bob - Earlsmedic - Emiratesdotcom
4. Race: Grams And Ounces - Rock The Stars - Mr Money Maker
5. Race: Aurorian - Fantino - Rugell
6. Race: Milnagavie - Cornish Beau - Corr Point
