this evening´s racing

three flat meetings in the UK this evening and a míxed meeting (four flat races, 3 over hurdles) in Ireland at Tramore. The handicap hurdle here at 20.25 CET should mainly concern the two top-weights Sherchanceit (Mary O´Connor/ Niall Madden) and Hazeymm (Edward O´Grady/ Andrew McNamara), with slight preference for the latter, whose jockey can complete a double with Augustine Leahy´ s Captain Sully in the maiden hurdle at 21.25.

In England the 5 furlongs handicap at 21.00 at Catterick has 12 runners, most of whom have run against each other repeatedly, so form on the day could be decisive. Alacity (Neil Bycroft/ Franny Norton) beat Raccoon (Ruth Carr/ Peter Mcdonald) over this CD last time, but the latter is now 6 lbs better off and can take revenge.
Frankie Dettori is at Kempton´s all-weather meeting, mainly to ride the well-bred Ragsah in the race for 2yo maiden fillies at 21.20; she has been runner-up in both her starts so far, but can make it third time lucky today.
At Newmarket, we fancy Dicky le Davoir, who won an apprentice race at Hamilton on Wednesday, can follow up quickly off the same mark on the 6 furlongs handicap at 19.00. The consistent Sarasota Sunshine (Jeremy Noseda/ William Buick) should start favourite for the fillies handicap at 21.10, but may find top-weight Whats Up Pussycat (David Slimcock/ Tom Queally) a tough nut to crack.
