rest of York (final day)

as always, the rest of the York card is also high class, with the Group Three Strensall Stakes over 9 furlongs at 15.15 the main supporting feature. This looks booked for the lightly-raced Rainbow Peak (Michael Jarvis/ Neil Callan), who has won 4 of his 5 career starts and looks likely to be able to compete on the highest class. His latest win at Royal Ascot was particularly impressive and the form of that race has worked out well. Runner-up Kings Gambit (Tom Tate/ Jamie Spencer) was runner-up then and can chase him home again, while Goodwood winner Critical Moment (Barry and Michael Hills) is another place candidate. However Rainbow Peak should win this; he was one of the hottest favourites of the week at Royal Ascot and the same will be true today, so he is not necessarily a good bet at the likely odds, but it will still be a surprise if he is beaten.
Regardless of how the Hills runner does in that race, they can take the listed City of York Stakes over 7 furlongs at 15.50 with distance specialist Red Jazz. The two Godolphin runners Skysurfers (Frankie Dettori) and Fravashi (Ted Durcan) look the biggest dangers.
